 New York's grandest Irish bar\, 7 1/2 hours\, 2 bands (including Scythian!)\, 2 DJ's\, and 1 magician will join forces to throw the grandest New Year's party in Manhattan\, the heart of the world's New Year's celebrations.  Add 800 revelers masked and dressed to the nines and you've got a recipe for a night that you won't soon forget - all for only $25!  
 
 Who is Scythian\, you ask?  Rousing and raucous\, Scythian (sith-ee-yin) plays kicked-up Celtic and world music with hints of Gypsy and Klezmer\, all infused with a touch of punk-rock sensibility. Take a pair of classically trained dueling fiddlers\, toss in a rhythm guitar and the occasional funky accordion\, then power it with the driving rhythm of a jazz percussionist\, and you've got the ingredients for a show you won't soon forget. Their high-energy\, adrenaline-peddling\, interactive brand of music has one goal in mind: to get people on their feet and dancing. Their repertoire ranges from traditional and contemporary Celtic and folk music to the alluring and dramatic strains of Gypsy and Eastern European tunes\, and then crosses back over the border to pickup some good old-fashioned bluegrass licks.

The 11th Annual Universal Hip-Hop Parade steps off in the Bed-Stuy neighbourhood of Brooklyn on Saturday August 14th at 3:00 PM from Marcus Garvey Boulevard at De Kalb Avenue and proceeds down Marcus Garvey Boulevard to Fulton Street and finishs up at the corner of Franklin Avenue. 
 
 The parade\, an annual non-profit educational and cultural event is always held on the Saturday before the anniversary of Marcus Garvey's August 17th birthday. Marcus Garvey used culture as a tool to empower people and encouraged the growth of Black institutions. 
 
 So come to the historic Black neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant\, Brooklyn on Saturday\, August 14th 2010 and celebrate this legendary freedom fighter's birthday by participating in and watching the 11th Annual Universal Hip-Hop Parade.
