 We are running this as a no-reserve Auction\, meaning that all the pieces will start at 0 Euro and whoever bids the highest on the day will get to bring the piece home.
 
  We will have over 280 pieces up for Auction and to be honest the line up of Artwork is an amazing selection\; it will all sell on the day regardless of price.

SUMMARY:Spring Millinery Marathon
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4878089/ ] Learn techniques of Couture Millinery from Award-winning \, Westport based Milliner\, Lina Stein.
 Your roller coaster ride into the Millinery world will take off with making a Head piece or Fascinator\, then you get more technical and expand your knowledge by designing and making a straw hat that would be suitable for any fancy wedding or race meeting. The final piece of your course will be an elaborate cocktail hat.
 
 Day one: under Lina’s expert guidance\, you will learn how to recognize which style of hat would suit different people\, design your own creation\, and learn to shape and manipulate Sinamay to achieve a beautiful headpiece that can be embellished with colourful feathers and beads.
                                                                              
 Day two:  You will\, using a special milliners straw- Parisisal
 and Sinamay\, design a basic shape of a hat\, shape straw by blocking over one of Lina’s many rare and amazing wooden blocks using traditional Millinery methods taught for generations.  Stiffen and wire the different parts of the hat.
  
 Day three: Your hat will come together and you will trim and finish it.
  
 Day Four and Five: Cocktail Hats
 The next two days  will be spent venturing through the various steps of designing and constructing a Cocktail hat using Buckram as the base fabric.  You will learn to block the desired shape\, wire and cover it with your own fabric.  Trim it with flowers\, beads or whatever takes your fancy!

  All Materials and reading notes will be supplied
 Accommodation is on site. (single rooms\, sea views)\, Breakfast\, Light lunch\, teas/coffee and afternoon tea and Dinner will be provided each course day.
 
 A COMPLIMENTARY HAT-BOX to take home your creations!
 
 Work in the beautiful new space of EOM studios in Mulranny.
 
 Transport from Westport train station if required.
 
 WHAT’S NEEDED:
  Intermediate to advanced sewing skills
 Lots of imagination and buckets of energy!!
 
 Note: This course is also available as a 3 day Intensive for those wishing for just a shorter Millinery experience or for whom time is an issue. It is also the first of its kind in Ireland\, giving the students an intense creative work out\, so\, if you have itchy fingers and  are ready to plough into a new profession- then this is the one for you!
