 Located directly in front of the main entrance to Siesta key Public Beach
 Adjacent to the green lifeguard stand.
 I'm your teacher Avananda and I have been teaching yoga for 36 years. I have just recently relocated to Sarasota Florida from Maui Hawaii\, where I had been  teaching Yoga for the past twenty years. I have become accustomed to teaching Yoga outdoors from the many years of experience teaching on the beautiful beaches of  Hawaii. I have come to feel that there is no better place to experience the many physical and psychological benefits of Yoga than outdoors surrounded by the beauty of nature. Siesta Key Public Beach\, where I now teach four Free Yoga classes a week\, is the most unique beach in the world\, unique because the sand is a very  fine white sand made out of quartz crystals. The sand is composed of trillions of tiny crystals which have the same dynamic spiritual properties  of quartz crystal. Yoga on Siesta Key Public Beach is a Yoga  experience found in no other place in the world.
 MY STYLE OF YOGA
 I have come to understand the needs of the beginning student over the years while teaching Yoga in Hawaii because there I taught Yoga to many tourists who were first time yoga students and who only decided to give Yoga a try just because the class was being held on a  beautiful beach. I learned how to teach at a level that was easily accessible to the novice yet also interesting to those more experienced students\, thus offering everyone of every level a rigorous and effective workout.
 My classes are a fusion of styles and are comprised of easy to preform poses which are none the less challenging if preformed with commitment and enthusiasm. I emphasis deep breathing and concentration on how the poses feels even more than how they may look. I believe in leading a class by demonstrating several levels of each pose while at the same time giving precise verbally instructions as well. This method of instruction  allows you to progress at your own speed and ability without any pressure from me to preform the poses perfectly or keep up with the other students.
 If you have never tried Yoga before then I recommend Yoga on the beach as the perfect way to begin. Even if it is a one time event in your life you will always remember the spectacular setting and take home a happy memory.  Yoga  has kept me in the wonderful physical and mental health all my life. Yoga has also taught me greater self discipline and has opened my heart and mind to the deeper aspects of my life and my spirituality.
 No matter how old you are\, you can start today to improve your flexibility  and gain better overall health\, Yoga may also open your mind and awaken your inner senses  to the many dimensions of own being.
 All Classes are taught by Avananda who has 36 years of teaching experience and the highest yoga accreditation of E-RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance.

 In this series of classes we will be introduced to the art of meditation whereby we can learn to transform our habitual delusions into states of mind that are beautiful because they bring happiness to us and others.
 With meditation we can utilize our creativity and imagination and take the raw materials of our present experience and mold them into a profound inner peace and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances.

The look of communication between the two is telling: although the Bacon Brothers have only been a working band since 1995\, they too\, run decades deep. DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4359054/ ] This exhibit focuses on hundreds of pictures Bonnie Gold Bell and David Sun Todd have taken at Selby Gardens over the course of a year. After photographing natural objects\, such as the foliage and statuary at Selby\, they layer and collage the photographic materials into a variety of forms. Some images emerge as kaleidoscopic geometric patterns that they call mandalas. Another style of Bell and Todd's images feature single photographs with symmetrical borders\, while others are dreamy scenic collages featuring statuary\, including the ones at Selby.
