SUMMARY:Mobile Forum: Building the Cloud
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4768043/ ] Cloud computing is a very important trend\, and there is no doubt about its increasing role in the future. In this meeting\, Telecom Council members will explore building clouds and turning cloud computing into strategic businesses from the network operators' perspective. Make no mistake: we think that Cloud Apps are important\, cool\, and interesting\, but the topic of 'Cloud' needs to be discussed across the board\, and the Telecom Council is the perfect forum to focus on the companies that build the cloud\, not just those apps that ride on it.

SUMMARY:The Art of Richard Mayhew: Journey's End
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4655339/ ] This exhibition consists of paintings and watercolors executed from the late 1970s to early 1990s. During this period\, Mayhew was a professor of art at Pennsylvania State University. For a four-year period beginning in 1975\, he would take sabbaticals from his position in Pennsylvania and drive across the country in order to teach at San Jose State. These transcontinental sojourns\, sometimes via a northern route through Canada and other times via the Southwest\, provided a wealth of inspiration for his expressionistic landscapes. They are not exact evocations of any particular location\, but rather composite impressions\, based on his memories of the various places he had visited.

SUMMARY:The Sense of Place: Location/Inspiration
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4653375/ ] Landscape became a distinct genre of painting in the seventeenth century when realistically painted country scenes became highly desirable to prosperous Dutch patrons. In the eighteenth century\, wealthy British collectors wanted reminders of their "grand tours" through Italy and France\, creating a market for the works of Boucher and Fragonard. Landscape became the most dominant mode of painting in the nineteenth century as artists left the studio to work en plein air. The Impressionists took the genre to new levels of acceptance with their sunny and cheerful renderings of the French countryside.

SUMMARY:The Sense of Place: Location/Inspiration
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4653394/ ] Landscape became a distinct genre of painting in the seventeenth century when realistically painted country scenes became highly desirable to prosperous Dutch patrons.

SUMMARY:The Art of Richard Mayhew: Journey's End
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4655357/ ] This exhibition consists of paintings and watercolors executed from the late 1970s to early 1990s.

DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4336490/ ] The Headen-Inman House\, part of the Headen estate\, was moved in 1985 to the Civic Center location at 1505 Warburton Avenue. In 1984\, Irene Inman\, widow of Dr. Inman\, sold the property to a private developer\, but stipulated that the house be given to the City of Santa Clara and that the developer pay to move the house. This is the second of two museum houses in Santa Clara\, the other being the Harris-Lass House. The structure was built in 1913 and the architectural is classified as Craftsman Bungalow. It is a fine example of the Arts and Crafts movement and has a four-panel door with beveled glass lights and fine interior wood work. The museum houses the City's historical collection and features Santa Clara's artifacts.

"The 50+market is America's fastest growing market segment. Approximately 1.5 million people over the age of 50 live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Those 65+ enjoy twice the discretionary income of people 25 to 34."
A little more about Baby Boomers...
77 million Americans who were 50 or older as of 2007 controlled 67% of the country's wealth. This group has $2.3 trillion in disposable income. Every 8 seconds\, another Boomer turns 50.... 10\,000 - 50 year olds are being created daily! Boomers can expect to live longer than any previous generation and the opportunity for services and products that will meet their future needs becomes apparent. SUMMARY:The Art of Richard Mayhew: Journey's End
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4655351/ ] This exhibition consists of paintings and watercolors executed from the late 1970s to early 1990s.

DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4653384/ ] Landscape became a distinct genre of painting in the seventeenth century when realistically painted country scenes became highly desirable to prosperous Dutch patrons.

SUMMARY:The Art of Richard Mayhew: Journey's End
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4655352/ ] This exhibition consists of paintings and watercolors executed from the late 1970s to early 1990s.

DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4653389/ ] Landscape became a distinct genre of painting in the seventeenth century when realistically painted country scenes became highly desirable to prosperous Dutch patrons.

SUMMARY:City's Historical Collection
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4378215/ ] The Headen-Inman House\, part of the Headen estate\, was moved in 1985 to the Civic Center location at 1505 Warburton Avenue.

SUMMARY:The Art of Richard Mayhew: Journey's End
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4655367/ ] This exhibition consists of paintings and watercolors executed from the late 1970s to early 1990s.

SUMMARY:City's Historical Collection
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4451428/ ] The Headen-Inman House\, part of the Headen estate\, was moved in 1985 to the Civic Center location at 1505 Warburton Avenue.

SUMMARY:The Art of Richard Mayhew: Journey's End
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4655333/ ] This exhibition consists of paintings and watercolors executed from the late 1970s to early 1990s.

DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4653412/ ] Landscape became a distinct genre of painting in the seventeenth century when realistically painted country scenes became highly desirable to prosperous Dutch patrons.
