 Persian poetry is one of the world’s greatest literary treasures. Poets such as Rumi\, Omar Khayyam and Hafiz have been widely translated into English for centuries. Yet little is known of the rich and dynamic tradition of contemporary Persian poetry. The Poetry Translation Centre’s Persian Poets’ Tour presents five prominent Persian-language poets from Afghanistan\, Iran and Tajikistan\, the three countries where the Persian language is spoken today.
