DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/1023810/ ] Many of you have expressed an interest in learning more about SNAP\, Sunnyvale Neighborhoods Actively Prepare\, so our next meeting will be an overview of SNAP.  Lt. John Gienger from Sunnyvale Public Safety will be our guest speaker.  
       
      SNAP is a 7-week disaster training course which provides Sunnyvale residents with the tools to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 72 hours following a disaster.  Lt. Gienger will introduce us to SNAP\, but this is not the course.  The next course will begin September 18th and is held quarterly at no costs to Sunnyvale residents.  SNAP Course Topics include:  
          * Emergency Preparedness\;
          * Terrorism\;
          * Disaster Medical Operations\; 
          * Light Search and Rescue Operations and more.
      After the presentation\, the floor will be open for questions regarding emergency preparedness\, home safety\, and future Neighborhood Watch topics.
      Please RSVP so I can get an idea how many people will be attending and if you like\, please bring a snack/potluck dish to share\, and your own beverages.  A flyer is attached.  We hope to see you on at the DeAnza Bldg at DeAnza Park\, at 6-8PM\, on Friday\, August 29th\, .
