SUMMARY:VCTaskforce: The Elevator Pitch Roundtable
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4940081/ ] The VC Taskforce Elevator Pitch Roundtable is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to network with investors and other CXOs\, present their company and idea\, and hear first-hand what it takes to raise early-stage capital in 2009. Each of our events has consistently drawn an excellent entrepreneur-to-investor ratio.

If you are an entrepreneur in a startup that is currently seeking capital\, and would like to present your best 90-second elevator pitch to a panel of VCs\, you must register in advance and have confirmation from the program manager that you are on the list of presenters. The maximum number of presenters is limited to ten.

If you are an investor\, come and listen to entrepreneurs' pitches. You never know where you'll find your next deal. Find out how our panel of investors rate the entrepreneurs' pitches\; which VCs pass and for what reasons\; and which entrepreneurs other VCs want to talk to ASAP. Please let us know if you would like to participate on one of our Elevator Pitch Roundtable or Workshop panels.((During the evening\, entrepreneurs on the list will present their pitches to the entire room. Our distinguished panel of early stage investors will ask questions and provide brief feedback. Please note that pitching time limits will be strictly enforced! After the 90 second pitch there will be five minutes of Q&A by the panel followed by two minutes of critique.

Our lively panel discussion and Q&A will also provide critical insight into what it takes to raise capital today.

SUMMARY:SDForum's Quarterly Venture Breakfast with Pillsbury Winthrop
DESCRIPTION: [Full details at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4964844/ ] We're excited to deliver\, with Pillsbury Winthrop\, the annual Quarterly Venture Breakfast Series. Our January session will be focusing on 'The Year in Review'.

What a difference a year makes. Through 2009\, venture investing had been relatively stable with 7 straight years between $22-30 Billion invested annually in the US. That streak ended abruptly in 2009\, with VC investing down roughly 50%. Our panel will examine a number of issues facing the venture industry in 2010\, including:

 - Is the venture model broken? With a dead IPO market and few big M&A deals\, can the venture industry return sufficient capital to warrant even $15B of investment annually by LP's?
 - What will be different in 2010? Will venture investing go up\, down\, or sideways?
 - Will the IPO market finally rebound in 2010?
 - Clean Tech is still the new\, new thing\, but in a world of capital efficiency\, how will it be affected?
 - Where are valuations headed?

 Agenda:
 8:00am-8:30am Registration and Breakfast
 8:30am-8:45am Introductions
 8:45am-9:00am Overview
