This year’s Yuletide Fires glows with the warmth of candlelight on old icons and moonlight on the gentle hills of Tuscany as Chor Leoni presents a decidedly Italianate Christmas with special guests mezzo-soprano Mariateresa Magisano and the Elektra Women’s Choir. The concert’s centrepiece is Ottorino Respighi's Lauda per la Natività del Signore, a beautiful pastoral cantata depicting the nativity of Jesus as the shepherds might have seen it. Enchanting rustic harmonies, vivid orchestral colour, and ancient plainchant combine to create a concert of expectation and mystical vision.

*$20 tickets for seating in the Cathedral’s chancel will be available at the door 15 minutes before the December 20 performances begin. These seats offer great sound but limited sight lines as they are behind the choir.*
