On September 7, 1630, at the home of John Winthrop in Charlestown, the Court of Assistants ordered "that the Trimountaine shalbe called Boston." Today, Boston celebrates September 7 as its Charter Day. What a wonderful excuse to join a walking tour honoring the founding of Boston!

With the charter to the "Governor and Company of the Mattachusetts Bay in Newe-England" in hand, John Winthrop led the Great Migration to a city on a hill 378 years ago.

We won't be leading you quite so far. This guided tour will begin in Bendall's Cove and walk among sites including John Winthrop's homes, early congregational houses, the first public school, burying ground, tri-mountain, Blackstone's front yard, and springs both Great and small.

Join us on this trip back to 17th century Boston and learn what happened when England wanted to take the charter back.
