The waterways of the Adirondacks were once the region's best transportation routes, so it's no surprise that boats are important cultural artifacts for the region. 'Boats and Boating' shows how boats built and used in the Adirondacks reflect trends in settlement and recreation. From small canoes to Gold Cup race boats, this exhibit shows the many ways in which boats were important to Adirondack residents, travelers, vacationers and competitors for more than 100 years.
