I’m asking people to come out to WorkPlay on Tuesday, August 29 beginning at 5 p.m., It is my birthday, but I'm asking you to come out to help out fellow citizens along the Gulf Coast.

Instead of gifts and cake, I’d like to ask people to come out and bring donations for the continuing local effort to assist those families affected by last summer’s hurricanes, including Hurricane Katrina. The donations will then be delivered to those in need by City Action Partnership (CAP).

A detailed list of items currently needed is available at http://capisdowntown.com/august06.html. You may also bring out monetary contributions to the effort. Tax deductible donations can be made out to Operation New Birmingham with “Katrina Relief” in the memo line. If you cannot attend and still wish to make a donation, please send it to:
