James Garner and his band return by popular demand to Pleasanton's Firehouse Arts Center for a one-night-only Thanksgiving Weekend performance on Saturday, November 24, at 8:00 p.m.
Garner will again recreate Johnny Cash's unique and memorable sound and style in a show of beloved signature classics like Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line and A Boy Named Sue, as well as seasonal favorites from Cash's many holiday albums.
The show was a sell-out hit in its debut at the Firehouse Arts Center last season as part of the hugely popular Cabaret Series at the Firehouse, which is presented by Esses Productions.
Steven Shore of Esses Productions notes that James Garner "is not a Johnny Cash 'impersonator'. He is very much his own performer with his own talent and his own presence. Garner also happens to be a huge Johnny Cash fan, and his tribute show is a classy and authentic production honoring the music of the legendary 'Man in Black'."
This Holiday Kick-Off production will again feature Garner's longtime backing band, the Tennessee Three, who faithfully recreate those iconic recordings and Cash's unique style and arrangements.
