The Kooks (named for the song appearing on David Bowie's 'Hunky Dory') met while attending Brighton Music College in the mid-2000s. Each shared a liking for the Police, the Strokes, the Everly Brothers and Funkadelic, thus forming the sweet and precocious sounds they have made. Before the end of 2005, the band's 'You Don't Love Me' gave the band its first ever Top 20 hit. Their debut full-length is 'Inside In/Inside Out.'
