Emmanuel Jal, Sudanese child soldier and world renowned hip hop artist, will lecture at University of Rochester on Thursday, Oct. 2, 7:30pm in Strong Auditorium. His lecture focuses on his experiences of survival as a child soldier and on the power of human generosity, the need for political support in Darfur and what each of us can do to make a difference. Now a hip hop artist, Jal uses music and lyrics to promote peace, literacy, social justice, and human rights.
