Saturday evening at X Avant will be yet another example of The Music Gallery's commitment to showcasing the diversity of avant-garde music. The headlining set (10pm) will consist of a visit from American video artist, filmmaker, composer and sound artist, Tony Conrad, who in the 1960s, was a member of the Theatre of Eternal Music alongside John Cale (of The Velvet Underground) and LaMonte Young, and has made several recordings with "Krautrock" pioneers Faust. Conrad will be performing an hour-long called "In D."

At 9pm, we will be treated to a performance by Toronto/Montreal free-jazz/ambient/country/pop quartet Barnyard Drama, led by Christine Duncan (vocals) and Jean Martin (drums), with guitarists Bernard Falaise and Justin Haynes.

The evening will commence at 8pm with a special performance of Telephone, 20 Questions and Other Guessing Games, an electroacoustic collaboration between composers/performers/sound designers Kim Dellavedova and Phillip Pietruschka from Melbourne, Australia, and Ben Wilson and Kelly Churko from Vancouver, BC.
