Share Your Light Night (SYLNight)
Saturday December 13, 2008 at 7:00pm
Entire City of Virginia Beach, Virginia
123 Your Street
Virginia Beach, District of Columbia Get Directions
WHAT:
Share Your Light NightSM is an annual December luminary event. Luminaries are illuminated bags displayed along neighborhood streets and in common areas in condo or apartment complexes. Share Your Light NightSM was named by Virginia Beach citizens during a vote conducted in the fall of 2007 at the VB Central Library during an public meeting, held by the VBCCO
WHEN:
Held EVERY YEAR on the Second Saturday in December at 7PM. Rain/wind dates will be posted online
WHY:
This event has proven to create solidarity in many towns and cities throughout our country and will establish another tool for law enforcement to help reduce crime through building relationships between neighbors. This will unite and empower our citizens, as with the National Night Out, but offers a warm glow. It will also encourage the development of organized neighborhoods to give the silent a unified voice. Through this event, it will foster the small town community feeling by bringing neighbors together where conversations are shared regularly instead of the occasional wave, create camaraderie between neighbors, and to encourage stewardship of their community and common areas of interests.
WHERE: (Outdoors ONLY)
Contact Illuminate A Cause, LLC (757-714-2772), a not-for-profit organization, for more information on how to obtain bulk reusable luminaries highlighted in this brochure. Please, choose non-flame products to insure we all stay safe.
