Yoga is the ideal exercise for pregnant woman. It is widely recommended by midwives and doctors to expectant mothers as a way of keeping fit and mobile.
Pregnancy yoga classes give women the opportunity to nurture their body, mind and spirit by creating space in their bodies, and a sense of peace within. Breathing and relaxation techniques empower women in preparation for labour, while asana (postures) gently open and
stretch the body while also creating physical and emotional strength
Classes are open for all stages of pregnancy from 12 weeks, for those that are complete beginners, to those with more yoga experience.
“I just wanted to say that I thought the yoga was brilliant prep for labour – the breathing helped for dealing with contractions and got me in the right head space for coping with the pain. I managed to have the baby at home in my living room and by a miracle it was drug free. I’m an absolute yoga convert!” – Thi Dinh
“I attended the pregnancy yoga class and I didn’t really realise at first, but it was really useful during the labour. I used what I learnt in classes so much that I arrived at hospital and my baby’s head was out. No time for drugs for me!” – Emilie Russell
