Making its Lorain debut, four members of the Cleveland Chinese Music Ensemble will perform a selection of festive and elegant pieces for silk and bamboo ensemble, in celebration of the Chinese New Year (the Year of the Snake).
The program, which is free and open to the public, will feature traditional instruments including dizi and xiao (bamboo flutes), sheng (mouth organ), xun (ocarina), gaohu and yehu (fiddles), pipa (pear-shaped lute), yueqin (moon lute), guzheng (zither), and percussion.
This event is part of the Lorain Public Library's "Music at Main" program series, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Lorain Public Library, Inc.
