6 Corners BBQ Fest
Saturday June 15, 2013 - Sunday June 16, 2013 from 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Six Corners
4000 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, Illinois 60641 Get Directions
WHAT: The 6 Corners BBQ Fest is returning for the third year in a row to Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood – showcasing a weekend of Chicago’s best BBQ restaurants dishing out ribs, burgers, hot dogs, chicken and more! The kids will have a bouncing-blast on the inflatables or get their creative juices flowing with tables of arts and crafts. The stage will showcase the finest in local jams. And while patrons are wrist-deep in BBQ sauce, they can stroll the unique market place offering goods of all sorts! We’ve got Dad and the family covered at this two-day street festival, so come celebrate Father’s Day at Six Corners with food, music and fun!

WHEN: Saturday, June 15, from noon-10 PM and Sunday, June 16, from noon-8 PM.

COOKOFF: 6 Corners BBQ Fest and the Six Corners Association are proud to announce the return of the “Meat on Milwaukee Cookoff!” The neighborhood cooking contest will take place Sunday, June 16, boasting the best backyard chefs. Cooking will begin at 8 AM, judging takes place at 4 PM and the winner will be announced at 6 PM. Entry details will be announced shortly.

WHERE: 4000-4080 Milwaukee Avenue (at Irving Park Road and Cicero Avenue), Chicago, IL 60641. The festival can be easily accessed via public transportation: CTA Blue Line Montrose and Irving Park stops and Cicero bus #54, Milwaukee bus #56 and Irving Park bus #80. The nearest Metra stations are the Mayfair and Grayland stops.

WHY: The Six Corners intersection in Portage Park has it all! Home to businesses both big and those smaller and locally owned, it’s primed for the best summer BBQ festival! A portion of the proceeds will benefit neighborhood arts and education programming directly within the Six Corners community. Local groups scheduled to participate include the National Veterans Art Museum, Northwest Arts Connection, Arts Alive 45 and Filament Theatre Ensemble.

WHO: The 6 Corners BBQ Fest is hosted by the Six Corners Association. Founded in 2002 by local businesses, the association was established to contribute to the revitalization of their historic business district – an area that dates back to the early 1900s. Currently, about 130 businesses work in conjunction with the Six Corners Association.
