Sketching in the Galleries
Saturday October 25, 2008 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Austin Museum of Art Downtown
823 Congress Ave
Austin, Texas 78701 Get Directions
Observe, learn, and draw surrounded by art! Join artist Phillip Wade as you focus closely on the art on view and practice your drawing skills. Philip Wade has been a member of the Art School faculty since 1999.

Sketching is how artists think aloud, and you'll hear them loud and clear when you see how thumbnail drawings you will do from these great works of art reveal the thought behind the design. You will also play with different kinds of line, learning their emotional content.
Guaranteed: you'll look at art with new eyes.

This drop-in art activity is open to all experience levels. Please bring your own drawing materials, or borrow them from the FamilyLab or purchase from the Museum Store. (Only dry media permitted in the galleries.)

Date: Saturday, October 25, 2008
