Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. This event is the ALS Association's national signature event. Each year, walkers nationwide raise millions of dollars in support of cutting-edge research and patient services programs.
