Yes there many things happening this week, but I encourage all of us who have not been following this year's election to consider tuning into tonights final presidential debate. By actively learning about the major issues, one can make more informed decisions in choosing a candidate rather than simply deciding based on race, class, gender, likability or political party.
Voting is a right that many who came before us have sacrificed their lives for the procurement of. Our elected officials are here to shape their policies and agendas in ways that will best serve the electorate. If people do not vote, then there is no reason for our candidates to represent them.
Lastly, attentiveness to issues on a national scale will help us broaden our horizons beyond our local agendas. This is a small step in taking ownership for the big picture issues.
