"you can tell a lot about a city by looking at its door handles" -- juhani pallasmaa
[what it is]
something to do with connectedness.
a monthly coffee meetup, that happens in more than 50 cities nearly simultaneously.
there was a nice write-up in the new york times recently http://tinyurl.com/56y3cz
the next brighton one is on friday 5 dec, 8am - 10am at sanctuary http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=38524632399
[some elements that could be very nice if they cropped up regularly at a likemind]
- people finding overlap between projects
- people talking about how they work, how they approach work
- people talking about what they use brighton for
- people talking about where they are stuck
- people talking frankly about their money situations
[what to do, please]
likemind is a self-organising, creative network. or a tiny social/ city-level experiment to search out who is doing nice or clever work in brighton. with computers or without them. anybody can invite anybody, and anybody has the right to initiate anything. is hosted by curtis, iain, matt. but they are just names to mention if you don't know anybody yet.
