Kenneth Anger is one of the giants of American underground and experimental filmmaking. His films draw on pop iconography, from commedia dell'arte to Hollywood and a wide variety of 20th century subcultures: the worlds of bikers, occultists and gays. We present stunningly restored 35mm prints of four of Anger's most famous films: Fireworks, Rabbit’s Moon, Scorpio Rising and Kustom Kar Kommandos.

Following the Anger films we present a brand-new 35mm print of Un Chant d'Amour, French writer Jean Genet's only film, which he directed in 1950. Because of its explicit homosexual content, the 26-minute movie was long banned. The film is still rarely-seen and difficult to find, but is widely regarded as a masterpiece of erotic cinema. (Total program running time: 89 min)

Kenneth Anger prints courtesy of The UCLA Film and Television Archive. Preservation funded by The Film Foundation.
