The Bells of Joy, directed by Karen James, will present its 25th annual Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 in the chapel of the United Methodist Church, 71 Williams St.
Inspired by the Lessons and Carols Service from Kings College, England, this concert will feature original handbell compositions as well as traditional Christmas carols. Included on the Bells of Joy play list is "I Wonder as I Wander" and "Coventry Carol" performed on five octaves of Schulmerich Handbells and three octaves of Malmark Handchimes.
Versatile Bells of Joy ringer Pat Pranger will ring a solo arrangement of "Infant Holy" accompanied on the piano by director James.
Lessons will be read by Alan Betts. The United Methodist Church is now handicapped accessible. A freewill offering will be received.
