Whittier Reads the bestselling "My California: Journeys by Great Writers" as its community book this month. Join My California contributors -- Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edward Humes, LA Times Columnist Patt Morrison, Writer and NPR Book Critic Veronique de Turenne and My California Editor Donna Wares -- for a special evening at the Whittier Depot. 7pm, 7333 Greenleaf Ave., Whittier. Hosted by the Whittier Public Library Foundation.

The My California anthology is a collection of narrative travel and adventure stories by 27 of California's finest authors and journalists. All of the contributors donated their work so that book proceeds could benefit the California Arts Council and writing programs for children statewide. My California is a great read and a good deed.
