The Suffield Players will hold auditions for What the Butler Saw by Joe Orton. Sunday, January 25, at 2 PM and Thursday, January 29, at 7 PM, at Mapleton Hall, 1305 Mapleton Ave, in Suffield.
This wild 1960s British sex farce offers roles for 4 men and 2 women. The plot concerns a psychiatrist who, in the midst of interviewing a new secretary by having her undress, is interrupted by his nymphomaniac wife, a hotel bellboy, an unexpected state inspector, and a policeman in drag. And then things get really complicated. Somehow it all has to do with a statue of Winston Churchill. For those interested in reading the play beforehand, copies are available at the front desk of Kent Memorial Library (50 N. Main St., Suffield). The play will be directed by Phil Vetro.
Performance dates are April 30, May 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16. For directions or more information, visit www.suffieldplayers.org.
