Les AMIS Concerts, now in its twenty-fourth season, launches its Les AMIS Ensemble Balkan Tour under the direction of Artistic Director, Michael Pepa. A gala fundraiser will mark the beginning of the Ensemble's tour of Balkan Europe on April 18th to May 6th, 2007 to Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, and Romania.

Les AMIS Ensemble is a group made up of some of the most talented young Canadian musicians. The ensemble performs contemporary as well as traditional chamber music. Les AMIS has always featured the brightest stars of the future. The present ensemble is graced with the most accomplished artists in Les AMIS’ twenty-four year history. A dozen musicians belong to the group and participate as the repertoire demands.

This year, Les AMIS Ensemble presents a diverse program of selected Canadian works (including a world premiere by Michael Pepa) to audiences in Balkan Europe. Of special highlight, the ensemble will be featured as special guest at the Music Biennale Zagreb 2007 Festival in Croatia.
