Pleasure Palate California Wine and Cheese Pairings
Sunday May 27, 2007 at 6:00pm
California Wine & Cheese
115 W. Foothill Blvd
Monrovia, California 91016 Get Directions
Time to tempt your palate with all the pleasurable flavors that Southern California has to offer. Join Pleasure Palate as we do some culinary exploring of restaurants (both high-end and holes in the walls), various food and beverage tastings, cooking classes, potlucks and so much more. From savory to sweet, from salty to sour, from spicy to tangy, from exotic to All-American, we'll taste it all, so come along and take your taste buds on the ride of their life. Tonight, we'll be experiencing delicous pairings of California white wines and cheeses at the California Wine and Cheese Store in Monrovia!

With California wines getting acclaim all over the world and with California artisan and farmstead cheese makers starting to get more and more recognition, it's about time that wine stores like California Wine and Cheese were created to highlight not only the best, but also the undiscovered gold of California's wine and cheese offerings.

For just $25, owners Tom and Janet Dugan, will be taking us on a tasting journey with 5 duets of white wines and accompanying cheeses, all of which are made in California.

The white wines will include: Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne and Chardonnay. According to Tom, while many of you are probably familiar with the Sauvignon Blanc and the Chardonnay, the others may be lesser known. Apparently, the other three wines originate in the Rhone region of France and are getting much more play lately in California as wineries harvest more of these grapes.

The cheeses will have to remain a mystery until the event date gets closer since supply and access to some of the cheeses changes every week. Regardless of which cheeses we end up, they will all still be made by California cheese makers.

To top it off, after the tasting, the Dugans have offered a 10% discount off of any wines you wish to purchase.

A nice little discount and meeting up with other wine and cheese lovers is a wonderful way to spend a Sunday, so please come out and join us!

COST:
This wine and cheese pairing needs to Pre-Paid by May 25 to reserve your spot and your payment will cover the entire event.

* If you are paying via Pay Pal, please send $26.00 ($25 + $1 Pay Pal Fee) to my Pay Pal account at abby@pleasurepalate.com.

* If you are paying via check, the cost will go down to $25 and you'll have to email me for an address to send the check to.

IMPORTANT: You cannot just show up for this event. I need to collect all the money and give that to the California Wine and Cheese store by May 26 in one lump sum. I also need to turn in a final headcount that same day so that they will know how much to prepare.
