Coming in May 2007, the Valley Dance Theatre presents its spring show “Raising the Barre”, a mixed repertory sure to delight audiences of all ages featuring two full-length ballets and selected pieces of new and traditional choreography.

Assistant Director Margaret Kenrick will present her new choreography of Stravinsky’s masterwork “The Firebird” accompanied by the Livermore-Amador Symphony and featuring fabulous new costumes by award-winning textile and costume designer Caryne Mount.

Rossini’s “La Boutique Fantasque” will enchant children of all ages when a toy shop comes to life! This classic children's ballet is filled with wonderfully costumed dolls and dancing toys with choreography by Director Betsy Hausburg to live music from the Livermore-Amador Symphony.

For those who love romance (with a little swashbuckling thrown in!) we present Act I of Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet” from fencing to the balcony scene! And rounding out our production is a new premiere of “Chaconne” with music by Vitali showcasing the exceptional partnering skills of five couples choreographed by VDT’s Partnering Instructor Doug Johnson.

Valley Dance Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit dance company and school. Our mission is to provide high quality dance productions and dance instruction to the Tri-Valley area.
