Artist reception and musical performance: "Speaking in Tongues" exhibition

Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Kenmore celebrates the opening of its new art exhibit “Speaking in Tongues: The Spirit Unleashed” with an artist reception. The reception will feature a musical performance by organist and choirmaster Sheila Bristow and violinist Laurie Kempen.

The reception is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 12th. Come for wine, cheese, music, and a chance to meet the artists!

Music will be performed from 7 - 7:30. (To ensure a pleasant concert experience, late arrivals will be asked to enter the gallery between pieces.)

Selections include:
* Johann Sebastian Bach
* Ned Rorem (two movements from his collection “A Quaker Reader”)
* Various composers’ arrangements of the Pentecost hymn “Komm, Gott Schopfer”

“Speaking in Tongues” will be on display in the nave of the church from July 8th through September 7th.
