First held on March 1, 1972, 'National Pig Day 'was named to honor "the ancient and venerable pig." In keeping with the tradition, those of the porcine persuasion are honored at the Central Park Zoo. Otis and Oliver, Vietnamese pot bellied pigs, will be treated as "Kings for the Day" and visitors will enjoy a host of pig-appropriate activities.
