Seattle’s Bike-In is a community-based art project using filmmaking as a tool for expressing the importance of alternative transportation and responsible transportation-oriented, community-driven development. Seattle filmmakers are being asked to contribute sections of a feature length work that advocates for forms of alternative transportations.
Residents are encouraged to bike to this free event that will feature a collectively created film, music, booths about bicycle safety on city streets, navigating bike trails across the city and state, advocacy for transportation alternatives, information on donating your old bike to a good cause, and a community pot-luck.

The project will alert area residents to a number of community based resources and businesses that are working to make bicycling a safe and enjoyable activity for all in the community. For this event, Cascade Bicycle Club is being asked to donate bike racks and help organize informational booths about bicycling. The Vera Project will provide live music, and residents are being asked to share their food in a community potluck. Local political leaders will be invited to partake in the evening in order to get to know their constituents community concerns, particularly in regard to alternative transportation. Additionally, through cooperation from the parks department, the project will bring awareness to the park and its use a public gathering space for the community.
