WHAT:
Water gardens and backyard rooms, popular summertime retreats for Minnesotans, are featured destinations during this year’s Twin Cities Pond & Landscape Tour. Sponsored by Hedberg Landscape & Masonry Supplies, the self-guided tours grant visitor access to dozens of spectacular area backyards. Tours are open during two weekends in late July, with proceeds going to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and the non-profit Minnesota Water Garden Society. Last year’s fundraiser, formerly known as the Twin Cities Parade of Ponds, generated more than $38,000 for charity.

Ticket information is available online at www.tcpondandlandscapetour.com or via the Twin Cities Pond and Landscape Tour hotline at (763) 392-5937.

FEATURES:
Residential water gardens have become the most popular trend in landscaping by making flower-fringed ponds, fountains and pondless waterfalls common. Fishing ponds, swimmable ponds as well as gazebos, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, and elegant stone terraces are the newest trends in water gardens and landscaping. Landscaping themes vary to include formal, woodland, Japanese, classical, Alpine, contemporary and lakefront. All of these styles – and many more – will be featured in this year’s Twin Cities Pond and Landscape Tour.

WHO:
Sponsored by Hedberg Landscape & Masonry Supplies, co-sponsors include Anchor Block Company, Spaces Magazine, Pioneer Press and TwinCities.com. For more information, visit www.tcpondandlandscapetour.com
