PLOGUE BIDULE
Sat . May 12, 2-6:30 PM

One session x 4.5 hours
Price: $100 or $80 with Extended VIVO Membership
Instructor: Phil Thomson

Bidule is a visual patching environment for digital audio workstations, developed by the Montreal-based company Plogue. It is similar to Reaktor, and cheaper and easier to use than Max/MSP. It allows users to patch together "objects" in a virtual sound studio, and the resulting patches can be used for music/sound composition or live performance.

This workshop will cover the basics of working with Bidule, including patching, routing, mixing, tone generators and sample players, different kinds of inputs and outputs (audio, MIDI, spectral), making your own objects, and using VST and AU plugins in Bidule. The workshop will be part lecture, part lab with practical examples. Those who bring their Mac or Windows laptop will receive a special demo version of Bidule. Previous sound experience is an asset
