PLEASE JOIN US FOR AN EVENING WITH CORY DOCTOROW AND RUDY RUCKER.

Tachyon Publications presents SF in SF, a monthly author reading & discussion series. Moderated by Terry Bisson.

CORY DOCTOROW is a blogger, journalist and science fiction author who also serves as co-editor of the blog Boing Boing. He is in favor of liberalizing copyright laws, and a proponent of the Creative Commons organization, and uses some of their licenses for his books. Some common themes of his work include digital rights management, file sharing, Disney, and post-scarcity economics.

RUDY RUCKER, aka "Cyberpunk pioneer" is a computer scientist and science fiction author, and one of the founders of the cyberpunk literary movement. He is best known for the Ware Tetralogy, the first two of which (Software and Wetware) both won Philip K. Dick Awards. As his "own alternative to cyberpunk," Rucker developed a writing style he terms "Transrealism," or science fiction based on the author's own life and immediate perceptions, mixed with fantastic elements that symbolize psychological change.

Each author will read a short selection, to be followed by lively and intelligent Q & A. Bring your books to be signed afterwards.

Cash bar opens at 6:30PM. Seating is limited, and first-come, first-seated, so arrive early. This is a free event open to the public.
