Perseid Meteor Shower
Saturday August 11, 2007 from 9:00pm - 11:00pm
Irving Nature Park
Sand Cove Rd.
Saint John, New Brunswick Get Directions
Join members of the Saint John chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society as we scan the night sky for the annual Perseids Meteor Shower. Observers should be able to count up to 100 “streaks” per hour, especially as this year’s show will coincide with the darkness of a new moon phase. A powerpoint presentation by society members will provide visitors with the “Where’s” and “Why’s” of this phenomenon as well as information on other prominent celestial objects revealed in the night sky. Don’t forget to dress warm, bring along a cot or chair, and cover your flashlights with red cellophane for optimal night viewing.

Meet at the Interpretive Shelter (just uphill from the Information Kiosk).
