Monarch Migration
Saturday August 25, 2007 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Irving Nature Park
Sand Cove Rd.
Saint John, New Brunswick Get Directions
Join re-known naturalist Jim Wilson as he presents a captivating mix of images that helps to unravel the mystery of where these butterflies go in the winter, how they prepare for this 2400+ km migration and how the next generation returns north using rudimentary but tried and true navigation techniques (no GPS’s involved here!). Jim will explain a monarch tracking project he is involved in, and weather permitting, will release “tagged” butterflies that will better our understanding of this invertebrate movement. Jim will also show proper capture techniques, so that visitors may have a chance to tag their own in the aid of science.

Meet at the barn at the Sheldon Point trailhead.
