In celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, the Japanese American National Museum presents a panel of experts to discuss the historical, political, religious and legal implications of the debate on equal marriage rights for lesbians and gay men.

Presenters will include:
- Award-winning author/activist Helen Zia, who in 2004 married her long-time partner in San Francisco
- Reverend Mark M. Nakagawa, senior minister of Centenary United Methodist Church in Little Tokyo
- Actor James Sie, who has been raising a son with his partner of 17 years, Doug Wood
- Attorney Karin Wang of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center
- With welcoming remarks from actor George Takei (STAR TREK, HEROES), Chair Emeritus of the JANM Board of Trustees
