Deadline for entries to “Día de los Muertos” exhibit approaching

Las Cruces, NM – The Branigan Cultural Center is sending out a “Call to Artists” for Día de Los Muertos exhibit to be shown October 2 – November 7, 2009. Submission deadline is September 9, 2009. Instructions for entering work for the exhibit is available on line at las-cruces.org/museums then follow links to Branigan Cultural Center exhibit submissions. Guidelines are also available at the reception desk at the Cultural Center. There is no fee to enter.

The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the Downtown Mall in Las Cruces. For more information about exhibits, contact the Branigan Cultural Center at (575) 541-2154.

Hello my husband LC Lindsey is a asume wood carver and artist, we seen the contest in the paper that mentioned, Dona ana wood carvers... So we wanted to enter his carving in the event but by the time I got off work at 8:30 pm the 9th of september the summitions had already closed . I'm not sure if this will make it in the event , but we are hoping so. If not there is always next year.. Artistic xpressions By LC Lindsey carving is the size of a human skull all the markings are of the natural wood.. He uses a chain saw and then finalizes with wood carving tools..
