For nearly 25 years, the Skylark Tappers have thrilled audiences with their inventive choreography, commanding stage presence, and most importantly, their contagious enthusiasm and love for tap dance. The Portland-based, nine-member company delivers its long-awaited tap concert, Classic Rhythm: An Evening with the Skylark Tappers, which promises to challenge, captivate, and inspire audiences of all ages.

Award-winning artistic director Judy Tibbles continues to expand her dancers’ repertoire and has again masterfully created both contemporary and classical dance pieces that will incorporate rhythm tap, swing, jazz, and show tap.

Special Guests Linda Sohl-Ellison & Monti Ellison round out the show with their nationally-acclaimed work. Sohl-Ellison is co-founder and Artistic Director of Rhapsody in Taps, a Los Angeles-based touring company that owns a decorated history of creating original works with live music.

Monti Ellison is an accomplished percussionist/drummer, composer and performer. He has performed worldwide as a soloist with Harry Belafonte, Stephanie Mills, Lonnie Liston Smith, Little Steven and others.
