Creative Talks: Eric Steuer (presented by Yahoo!)
Wednesday July 11, 2007 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Yahoo!
2450 Broadway at Cloverfield Blvd
Santa Monica, California 90404 Get Directions
Eric Steuer is the creative director of Creative Commons, where he develops the organization's media and culture projects. He is a contributing editor for Wired magazine, where he has written about the implications of digital culture on music and the concept of the "Infinite Album," whereby one album becomes a long shelf of songs and products, each carrying its own release date, distribution path, and price tag. A co-founder of Sneakmove Recordings, Eric is also a member of Meanest Man Contest, a hip-hop group with upcoming releases on Plug Research and Gold Robot Records.

Eric will discuss Reusable Culture. He'll look at ways that people around the world contribute to and draw from the massive pool of creative work on the Web to expand and enhance the worlds of art, education, and science.

Creative Talks presents outstanding designers and artists, addressing current creative issues, processes and methods. It's a forum for Los Angeles area designers to meet, get inspired, and learn from each other.

FREE PIZZA, beverages, and socializing starts at 7:00pm. The talk starts at 7:30pm.

Creative Talks is free and open to the public, but please RSVP (so we can make building security happy and make sure that everybody gets a seat and parking). Please select "I'm attending" to the right if you want to join in the fun.

Nice evening, thanks. Maybe you could try to publish future events on places like http://stylegala.com/

Thanks for setting this up! Maybe the next event could be themed around the discussion a little more? I think the audience was quite aware of Creative Common's purpose/role (or maybe not?) so maybe a 50:50 presentation:discussion format would have been better?

Anyway, thanks again!
