Il Pirata's location is ideal and easy access from the east bay and all parts of SF, with Plenty of parking, Great bar, outdoor patio and ass-kicking sound system.

Licky's story:

Licorice (Licky to his friends) is a beautiful 7-year old kitty; he is kind, gentle, and playful, and loves his "mom" Andra so much he'll let her dress him up as a bee (or the pope)… as long as there are treats, of course! You may know Andra from FatChanceBellyDance, Ultra Gypsy, or most recently Azure Tribal Belly Dance.
Licky recently became very ill, much to his family's distress. Their vet could not figure out what was wrong with him after an MRI, blood tests, and an extended stay in their ICU.
Andra switched to a gastrointestinal specialist vet who did another MRI and exploratory surgery, finally diagnosing Licky with irritable bowel disease, a manageable disorder now that they know what it is! Licorice is home now and feeling much better and more like his old playful self.
Unfortunately, every day in the vet's ICU, every test and MRI -not to mention the surgery- has added up to a monstrous vet bill: about $10,000!
Andra is a preschool teacher and is also getting married in a few months, so her closest friends have banded together to help out with the bill.
What better way to do so than to throw a belly dance benefit?
We have an amazing dance lineup featuring some of the Bay Area's finest in belly dance, bhangra, and hula, plus 2 kickass DJs, and a raffle with fabulous prizes. Andra is performing twice: with the hula group, and with Azure. She and Licky thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
