Midsummer Art Madness
Thursday July 26, 2007 from 6:30pm - 10:00pm
Eleven Ten Gallery
1110 Fulton Street
Brooklyn, New York 11238 Get Directions
Midsummer Arts Madness, Art Auction and Fundraiser. ElevenTen Gallery and South Of the Navy Yard Artists invite the public, art community, and avid art collectors to join the festivities on Thursday, July 26th, at 1110 Fulton St., only steps away from the Franklin Ave. C train station. Gallery doors open at 6:30PM with the live auction bidding beginning at 7:30PM Sharp.

A great way for art collectors to purchase artwork from established artists from the New York City area, as well as emerging artists whose work is fresh, innovative, and inspiring. ElevenTen Gallery is located in an area that is "gentrification-challenged". "We love our location, we love working with the Pratt Area Community Council, we believe in the artists and we believe in our community" says D. Lammie-Hanson, the director of ElevenTen Gallery.

ElevenTen Gallery is a project of South Of the Navy Yard Artists, (SONYA), a 501c3 non-profit organization representing the community of visual artists living, creating, and exhibiting in the neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and the western edge of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY. It is made possible by the support of the Pratt Area Community Council.

The gallery features the artwork of SONYA's members and guest artists in solo and small group exhibitions year round. The previous two years have been very challenging for the ElevenTen but since September, 2006 when Lammie-Hanson was appointed director as well as curator of the gallery, the gallery has continuously shown amazing artists in solo and themed, group shows. When she came back from her solo show in Berlin,Germany, she realized that the ElevenTen Gallery was worth fighting for. So with the consent of the board and tapping into her savings, Lammie-Hanson renewed the cultural life of the gallery. The Gallery needs to raise funds in order to keep the doors open for the upcoming 2008 season and beyond.
