About the Talk

Can't see the future for the trees? It's time to take stock of where the Web is headed and what you can do to bring the technologies and techniques of tomorrow to the web users of today. We'll explore multimodal communications, pursue Aldous Huxley's modern pleasure, catch up with Ted Nelson's future past and figure out how to future-proof our web sites. All this with lofty theories and concrete examples in one fell swoop.

About the Speaker

Ross Olson is the Web Technology and Communications Manager for Planar, a world leader in computer displays. For over a decade, Mr. Olson has led the drive to develop Web resources for many companies and organizations as project manager, graphic designer and web developer. His previous experience includes work for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Nikon, Mentor Graphics, PacifiCorp, Fred Meyer, Oregon Public Broadcasting and more. He teaches and presents at universities and professional organizations, writes articles about web communication, and helps produce the WebVisions conference. He creates wiki-based wireless publishing systems in his spare time.
