Karl Shifflett will be introducing Microsoft Expression Blend, the professional design tool that can help you create engaging web-connected experiences for Windows using the Windows Presentation Foundation. Karl will add depth to the introduction by developing an application during the presentation. Since time is short, the application he develops will be a Take-Home-Pay Tax Calculator. But to make it even more fun, he will take a VB.NET 1.1 DLL, reference it, write a wrapper class to make the DLL support WPF features, and then use Blend to write a WPF front end for the former application.

Presenter

Karl Shifflett is a Senior Information Technology Professional with proven expertise in computer software design, programming and project management. Currently working for emGovPower, Karls roles include Architect, Programmer, Systems Administrator, Exchange Administrator, Web Master and DBA.
