Spanish Guitar, Flamenco Rumba, Mediterranean, Salsa

Music is one of the rare things that unites an ethnically diverse crowd. KAWEH attracts a multi-cultural audience. Primarily Spanish guitar based, the group fuses Flamenco Rumba with Latin, Brazilian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern rhythms and melodies. "The rich acoustic guitar, passionate rhythms and international flair of the music, reaches out to everyone, regardless of age or style preference." - Mountain View Ala Carte & Art Festival

KAWEH’s musicians are as diverse as their compositions. With members hailing from as far as the Middle East, Europe, Latin America and Israel it’s no wonder why fans are attracted to their sound. “Just as leafing through an atlas can transport you from one region of the world to another, in the flip of a few pages, so too does KAWEH's music.” - Bay Area MetroActive

Seattle, Washington - Reuniting on stage after 15 years are Kaweh and Seattle based singer-songwriter Holly Phillips. The two started their first group back in 1993 and after just a few short months were garnering rave reviews and opening up for such major acts as Robby Krieger of “The Doors”. Holly was recently featured on the “Barack Obama” documentary, “The Man and his Journey”. She has shared the stage and recorded with such artists as, Babatunde Olatunji, Mickey Hart, Matt Cameron, Scott Mercado and Patrinell Wright. Kaweh and his ensemble recently returned from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where they perfrmed at a Colin Cowie (Event Planer to the Stars) event with Julio Iglesias. Kaweh and Holly Phillips are back together for one night of rockin’ the house at the “Triple Door” in Seattle!

KAWEH has independantly released 5 albums and sold thousands of copies world wide. Their 2009 West Coast tour is a cultural, musical travelogue taking the group from Southern California to Seattle, Wa. For all press and interview inquiries contact the group’s manager Guido Zolfaghar at 408.455.0260 or guido@kaweh.com. In today's homogenized music landscape, it is rare to find a group like Kaweh that blends the best of many different sounds and cultures. Kaweh's combination of ideas and musicianship is both exciting and engaging.
