Malone?s, in association with China West Entertainment, is proud to present Award-winning Boston based Blues quartet Sam Hooper Group performing live in Shanghai ? one night only ? July 8th at Malone?s American Café (255 Tong Ren Lu, Phone: 6247-2400). The evening?s performance begins at 9:30 PM.
Shanghai audiences may recall when Sam Hooper?s trio blew the doors off the House of Blues & Jazz for three months in early 2004. Returning this time with their keyboardist; Sam, Jordan, and Akira are looking forward to seeing all their fans for a electrifying night of blues on Malone?s Third Floor.
Known in American blues circles for his smokin? guitar work and soulful vocals, Sam Hooper?s playing has been compared to the likes of Blues legends Robert Cray and Bobby 'Blue' Bland. An alumnus of both the Berklee School of Music and University of Miami School of Music, he was a winner of 5 Berklee songwriting competitions.
Sam Hooper has performed at the original House of Blues in Cambridge MA, in a number of festivals including the Beale Street Festival in Memphis TN, and his music has been featured on radio and television. Internationally, he has toured through Europe, Japan, and the People's Republic of China.
