Egyptian journalist Amr Emam, the 2007 Daniel Pearl Fellow, will share his experience in America on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Los Angeles Press Club. Reception at 7:00 p.m., discussion at 7:30 p.m.

Amr is a graduate of the University of Cairo and works as a reporter for the Egyptian Gazette. From March to August this year, he has been working at the San Francisco Chronicle as a Daniel Pearl Fellow, in partnership with the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships.

Moderator Rob Eshman, Editor in Chief, The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, will lead a discussion with Amr on how America is viewed from abroad, especially in Egypt and other Muslim countries, and how his personal experience fits those views.
