Friday Nights at the de Young: As Good as Real: An Ode to Hiroshi Sugimoto

Experience artists’ responses to the special exhibition, Hiroshi Sugimoto, this Friday night at the de Young Museum. Wilsey Court and the Barbro Osher Sculpture Garden come alive with performances, art installations, and multi-media presentations from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Experience multimedia artist Gregangelo Herrera and Velocity Circus’ creative interpretation of the Hiroshi Sugimoto exhibition through music, a living statue garden, and circus-arts inspired performances. Velocity Circus Troupe also presents an avant-garde Sugimoto-esque film that interacts with the performers.  There will be a presentation of a “Pyram ID” art installation, utilizing video projections and black-light illusion. Don’t miss the unique performances and presentations this Friday night at the de Young.  The entire museum, café, and store stay open until 8:45 pm.
Regular museum admission prices apply on Friday nights.  Admission includes access to all festivities including live music and interactive art projects.
